Insulated board system to a cold external wall
A cold external wall suffering persistent condensation and mould was upgraded with an insulated board system, removing the cold surface that airborne moisture was condensing on.
The problem
The property had a cold external wall where condensation and mould kept returning despite repeated cleaning and redecoration. The wall surface was reaching dew point in normal occupied conditions.
The approach
Rather than treating the mould alone, the cold surface itself was addressed: an insulated board system was installed to lift the internal surface temperature above dew point in normal conditions, removing the condensation trigger rather than repeatedly cleaning its effects.
